3.14 kilometer fun run to celebrate the mathematical holiday of Pi Day!

Pi Day 2016 is almost here! That great geeky holiday celebrating the Greek mathematical symbol of π. To keep this years race on a Saturday, we will be celebrating on March 12th at 3:14pm! Every year on 3/14 students, teachers, and math enthusiasts around the world get together and celebrate in fun and unique ways, including: pi themed clothing, beaded necklaces, songs, poems, contests, and even paper chains (one PA high school had a chain 7,147 digits long stretching nearly half a mile!). Pi day has really been catching the attention and creativity of the math community!
On 3/12/16 at 3:14:15pm time, for one exacting moment, will line up completely with every decimal of pi! This will be the glorious start of your 3.14 kilometer run around the beautiful IPFW campus.
Bring your friends because the pi doesn't stop at the finish line! At the end of the race each runner will receive a slice of New York style pizza pie from Big Apple Pizza!
Let's all come together this Pi Day and use this fun event to:
-Celebrate Pi Day
-Raise awareness for STEM curriculum (science, technology, engineering, & math)
-Encourage an active lifestyle
-Eat some pizza pie!

-All registrations submitted before March 10th, 2016 at noon are guaranteed to receive a slice of pizza pie from Big Apple Pizza. Every effort will be made to accomodate late registrants who sign up after noon on the 12th through the start of the race, however no guarantees can be given for these participants, neither written, nor implied.-
